I’m thankful for all that stuff that sucked.
It’s the week to get serious about our gratitude lists and I have a radical twist to suggest. After giving thanks for all the amazing fabulosities you’ve created for yourself, give thanks for all the crap you’ve been through as well. It’s served you! Then stretch yourself even further by giving thanks for the crap you’re going through right now. The energy of gratitude will turn it around for you faster than you can say “gobble gobble.” Here’s a snippet from the Juicy Joy book:
“Think back to the times in the past when something in your life has really sucked. In hindsight, can you identify any ways those experiences have benefited you? Nudged you on to something great you might otherwise have missed? Helped you grow emotionally?. If you can see it, can you feel grateful now for those experiences? Consider the possibility that this moment in time is no different from those. Is it possible that there will come a day when you will be grateful for the things you are now experiencing as unwanted circumstances? If that seems plausible, can you make the stretch to feeling grateful for them now? Gratitude is the most powerful emotion to practice blending with others. It takes the sting and suffering out of any emotion, freeing you to fully feel it.” (from Juicy Joy – 7 Simple Steps to Your Glorious, Gutsy Self. JuicyJoy.com)
